A milestone in Chinese industrial decarbonization
100MW BoS + BoP + Assistants
In line with global efforts to decarbonize heavy industry, Guofuhee signed a RMB 150 million (approximately US$20.6 million) contract with Hami Tonghuide Green Casting Co. Ltd. on August 18, 2025. The deal, conducted through its subsidiary Xinjiang Guofu Mingzhi Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., represents a strategic step toward the large-scale industrial application of green hydrogen in northwest China.
This project integrates technological innovation, strategic vision, and environmental commitment. Guofuhee will supply a complete 110MW electrolysis system, operating continuously at 100MW, for the production of green hydrogen, catalyzing the transition of sectors such as metallurgy to more sustainable operations. This initiative is directly aligned with China's goal of peaking emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

Technical scope
The contract provides for the supply of 22x 5MW alkaline electrolysis reactors, totaling 110MW per unit, with continuous operation of 100MW. Two 5MW reactors will rotate in the O&M cycle, ensuring greater reliability and efficiency. Additionally, additional equipment will be included: gas-liquid treatment, safety control and monitoring systems, and supporting infrastructure.
The choice of alkaline technology is based on its maturity, reliability, and large-scale economic viability. The estimated annual production of 156.6 million cubic meters of green hydrogen will be directed to high-purity iron via direct reduction, a process that replaces coal and natural gas, drastically reducing emissions throughout the production chain.
Complementing the physical structure, the project includes the development of intelligent systems for the plant's operation and maintenance, integrating wind and solar energy sources. This operational flexibility ensures efficiency even in the face of the intermittency typical of renewables.
Strategic impact on the market and alignment with national objectives
This is Guofuhee's first project to deliver a complete industrial solution based on green hydrogen for metallurgy. In addition to consolidating its technological leadership, the company reinforces its ability to integrate complex solutions that require synergy between renewable energy, large-scale electrolyzers, and critical industrial applications.
The project demonstrates, for the first time, the viability of large-scale electrolysis applied to metallurgy, a sector that is difficult to decarbonize. The estimated annual production of 156.6 million cubic meters of hydrogen will be directed to high-purity iron, solidifying Guofuhee as a key player in the global energy transition.
The initiative also positions Guofuhee as one of the pioneers in China offering a practical and scalable "green energy for hydrogen" model, especially for sectors that are difficult to decarbonize. This strengthens the company's role within the national climate strategy and expands its opportunities in the clean energy market.

Why Xinjiang?
The choice of the Hami region in Xinjiang is strategic. The area offers abundant renewable energy resources, such as winds with average speeds exceeding 7 m/s and high solar incidence. Furthermore, its proximity to ultra-high-voltage transmission lines facilitates the integration of energy into the grid and the disposal of the hydrogen produced.
This model of harnessing surplus renewable energy to produce hydrogen represents a solution to the intermittency of green sources and generates a new value vector for the region.
Expansion prospects
The agreement with Hami Tonghuide Green Casting Co. marks the beginning of a long-term partnership. The proposal is to expand the integration model between electrolysis, renewable energy, and industrial applications, enabling larger-scale, more impactful projects.
This collaborative model is essential to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen, create sustainable value chains, and economically enable the energy transition of heavy industry.
The future of the industry and the role of Guofuhee
The Guofuhee-led project in Xinjiang represents a turning point for the use of green hydrogen as a viable solution for heavy industry. It demonstrates the technical, economic, and environmental feasibility of integrating renewable energy with energy-intensive industrial processes.
In addition to being a successful case study, the model developed can be replicated in other regions and sectors, paving the way for new investment and innovation opportunities. The success of this project reinforces Guofuhee's role in leading the global energy transition, directly contributing to reducing industrial emissions and meeting China's climate goals.
